Skip iOS 4.0.2/3.2.2 Jailbreak and Prepare for iOS 4.1 Jailbreak
iOS 4.1 Jailbreak is in Due – Latest news coming from iPhone Dev Team, a solid team with their successfull jailbreaking tools and tricks. We are knowing that JailbreakMe 2.0 Star is the easiest jailbreaking trick and tool to jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch running iOS 4.0.1, 4.0, and below versions. However, this userland jailbreak has been patched with the release of Apple iOS 4.0.2 and iPad OS 3.2.2. Unfortunately, new iDevices have been shipped with those new iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 (iPad). So what next to do?
First, for you who is still not having their iDevice upgraded, simply don’t upgrade your firmware to iOS 4.0.2 (iPhone/iPod Touch) or 3.2.2 (iPad). Nothing iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 do except breaking your jailbreak. But if you insist to still upgrade it to iOS 4.0.2, make sure you make a backup of your SHSH Blobs (How to save SHSH Blobs).
Secondly, for you who has their idevice on iOS 4.0.2 or 3.2.2 already, you can downgrade it back to iOS 4.0.1 or 4.0 as long as you’ve saved/backed up your SHSH Blobs.
Alternatively, you can simply wait for the new official tricks to jailbreak your iDevices by iDev Team. iPhone Dev Team has managed to develop and release next jailbreaking and unlocking tool for the upcoming iOS 4.1 and they skipped for iOS 4.0.2. But don’t worry as the new iOS 4.1 jailbreaking tool is out, which means it also compatible to jailbreak older iOS version including iOS 4.0.2 (or iOS 4.0.3 if any)

I didn’t update to 4.01 on my ipod touch. I had to cancel some updates sometimes (like when I plugged ipod into computer), but I use installious and to this day I can still install the latest apps.
